Poppies - Weeping Window

Kirkwall is hosting some of the ceramic poppies that were used in the large installation last year at the Tower of London entitled 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas' It's part of a travelling exhibition with the St. Magnus Cathedral's installation being entitled 'Poppies - Weeping Window'

It's a collaborative project between Paul Cummins MBE and Tom Piper. It's in Orkney specifically as part of the commemorations of the 100th anniversary of the battle of Jutland.

It looks very spectacular against the red sandstone of the Cathedral. A fantastic example of memorial art
