Preparing works for the Pier Arts Centre

2 of the 4 prints I had edited at work from the original paper scans I had. Then I mounted and framed them which gives such greater impact! Very pleased with the final results

Officially back to college

Been back to college for the odd day here and there for a few weeks but semester 2 timetable started yesterday. 

On the beach exhibition

Went a look in past For Arts Sake this afternoon to see what was on display in this exhibtion. Lots of creative pieces including lots of driftwood and shells being featured. (Including some grottie buckies) I also noticed some very elaborate tied knot pieces- by I think, the same man who did the workshop with college ones in Stromness a Peedie while ago- which were beautiful. 

Feedback on semester 1

Have recieved feedback on modules from first year today- later than usual due to delays. 

But was worth the wait- B for creative practice and B for theory and practice. 

Big weight off but not necessarily the pressure! Got to keep the momentum going through the exhibition at the Pier Arts Centre and the rest of 2nd semester.

Taking down work

I was taking down the semester one set up today and simply placed the vitrines on top of one another and I like the composition. Why didnt it happen before?!

As part of creating a leaflet, Jenny my fellow third year student, suggested using our signatures to help personalise things.


It took a peedie bit of head-scratching but I figured it out and it worked well.


So I now have a digital copy of my signature to use for other works.

Quiet on the art front, far too much been going on!! 

Got a few deadlines approaching for the beginning of Febuary so got plenty to work towards now, so need to kick start into 'college mode' very shortly. 

Few crafty things I've been undertaking like spending 4 hours tonight helping a friend with her chicken fancy dress costume...
