Summer is nearly over

But not quite! Been some really bonny nights with lovely sunsets...

Silversmith course

I have managed to get onto this silversmith evening class- getting the last space! And being a student gives a 50% discount Definately couldn't say no then. 

Have seen it advertised many times but never got my finger out and signed up. But went for it this time and looking forward to it and learning a new skill, which may, or not be useful for college work. 

Great intentions

This is a latch hook rug I started many, many years ago and STILL haven't finished. It's one of those things I get underway and work at for a while then gets laid aside. Then tidied away. Then forgotten about. Then I find it again and start the whole cycle again! I will finish it one day....

Also on my way to work the other day i spotted the Orkney Yarnbombers had been hard at work again. I like this textile 'grafitti' 

Catching up on what's going on

There's a new exhibition space in the middle of Kirkwall. Upstairs in Grooves which has lovely rooms with plenty of light. 

Was quite a different exhibition of seeing cartoons displayed! 

Also out to the Pier Arts Centre to see 'Orcadia and other stories' by Walker & Bromwich. Who were up at the college long before the summer break discussing this upcoming exhibition. 

So playful- reverts you back to your childhood playing on bouncy castles! 

This was the game created 'Orcadia' which was a way of promoting discussion and change.
